Successful launch of the 'Race the Champ' challenge at Trefdag
We’re looking back on a successful launch of our ‘Race the Champ’ challenge at Trefdag Vlaanderen Digitaal 2024. Visitors took on the exciting task of cycling the same route as Lotte Kopecky, gaining insights into the connection between data and health.
This event aligned perfectly with the theme of #Trefdag24, which focused on sustainable, reliable, and inclusive technology. The central question of the day was: How can we design the society and government of tomorrow to continually improve the lives of Flemish people and society as a whole?
Collaboration and data-driven innovation are essential to building a healthier society, and on October 24, no less than 84 enthusiastic participants contributed by comparing their cycling data to that of a true champion.
We have two winners
- Maarten Vandenbrande set an outstanding record on the ‘Moskesstraat’ course, covering 550 meters with a 14% incline in just 1 minute 17 seconds. His average speed reached 26 km/h, with a power output of 558W. For comparison, Lotte Kopecky completed the same course in 1 minute 30 seconds, with an average speed of 21.9 km/h and 408W.
- Izaak Van der Spiegel claimed the top spot on the flat 2-kilometer course along the Damse Vaart, completing it in 2 minutes 49 seconds at an impressive average speed of 44.37 km/h and a power output of 468W.
