Meet our new Learning Expert: Béatrice de Mahieu 

We are excited to welcome Béatrice, a driven expert with years of experience in the digital and tech sector.

Her passion for innovation and education, combined with her natural talent for building bridges, makes her an ideal addition to the FTI team. “I’m a big believer in the saying, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.’ So, let’s pull together towards a more sustainable society, where creative solutions and innovative technology drive change,” Béatrice begins. 

 

Since the start of her career, Béatrice has been active in the digital and tech sectors. “My experience ranges from large companies, where innovation is essential to remain competitive, to startups, which often bring solutions to the bigger players,” she shares. Today, she leads BeCode, a tech training school that not only helps businesses address their talent shortages but also empowers vulnerable individuals to enter the job market. 

 

What defines Béatrice is her determination to create positive change in society through innovation and co-creation. “My daily motto is ‘be a rebel with a cause.’ I channel my energy into building a more collaborative and inclusive society, aiming to solve frustrations with innovative solutions. Innovation doesn’t always have to be resource intensive. Small innovations can be just as impactful in everyday life,” she explains.

    "In a time where digitalization is at the forefront, lifelong learning is becoming increasingly important", says Béatrice de Mahieu.

Béatrice will use her expertise to strengthen collaboration between citizens and businesses, particularly through her knowledge of innovative ecosystems and her learning expertise. “In a time where digitalization is at the forefront, lifelong learning is becoming increasingly important. My goal is to help both citizens and companies adapt to this fast-paced world,” she says. “I’m proud to be an FTI ambassador because I believe in its mission of driving innovation through collaboration and unlocking data. There’s so much we can learn from data. By using it, we can build creative solutions to societal challenges. And through combining it with a true 'coalition of the willing' that tackles problems together, you get a powerful recipe for success. I’m excited be part of that coalition of forward thinkers!” 

 

If you really want to get on Béatrice’s good side, just mention wine – seriously! Beyond her professional side, she’s also a Holistic Health Coach with a diploma in nutrition. “And I’m a certified oenologist! I own a wine shop and event space in Tervuren, called ‘Chill Living Wines’, where I share my passion for wine,” she adds with a smile.
