John Lebon joins FTI as a Health Expert

At FTI, we thrive on innovation, and we do so by bringing in people who know how to make an impact. Enter John Lebon, a seasoned expert in Health Tech, joining our team.

With his years of experience in software and the healthcare sector, he’s not just bringing knowledge to the table, but also a fresh, forward-thinking vision. “I’m genuinely excited to share my expertise and help FTI achieve its ambitions,” says John with great enthusiasm. 

 

From the start of his career, right after his engineering studies, John ventured into the tech world. “I’ve been fortunate enough to work with various software companies in a wide range of sectors. For the past 17 years, I’ve led a Ghent-based software firm that developed medical laboratory software, supporting hospitals and private laboratories across Europe.” 

 

What sets John apart is his relentless drive to build companies that truly make their mark. “I’ve always been fascinated by local companies that develop their own products and manage to grow internationally. That journey of scaling, not just in terms of technology but also product strategy, marketing, and acquisitions, is something that energizes me every day,” he explains. It’s this hands-on experience that he now brings to FTI, as we continue to grow as a young and dynamic organization.

    Beyond his professional accomplishments, John pursues a range of interests, including skiing.

John will focus on driving innovation through data sharing, something he sees as the future. “With my experience in software and Health Tech, and my network across various sectors, I want to support FTI in its role as an enabler for unlocking data in our region. Collaborations between companies and governments in data sharing can truly make a difference. I see it as a crucial way to preserve our prosperity and innovative strength”, and he continues, “FTI has the potential to be a real game-changer. There’s an incredible mix of young talent and more experienced professionals at FTI, and I’m really looking forward to working with this team to put our region firmly on the map and to realize our mission of innovation and collaboration.” This vision aligns perfectly with FTI’s core mission, making John’s involvement a huge asset to our team. 

 

Beyond his professional achievements, there’s also a personal side to John that’s worth getting to know. “I’ve been playing football for over 45 years, and although my wife hopes I’ll soon retire from the sport to take up golf together, I’m still on the pitch every week,” he laughs.
