As the sun rises, I have my first coffee and take a few minutes to play with my cats. I’m not the biggest fan of mornings, but I do love my quiet time before the day kicks into high gear. Then, I grab a quick breakfast – just a bowl of cereal  – and get ready to head out. My commute to the office is a short 10-minute drive, but when the summer rolls around, I’m considering biking in using the Elli app to monitor my well-being.

When I get to the office, I refill my water bottle, check my emails, and take a quick glance at LinkedIn. I make sure there are no urgent meetings right away, then I plan out my tasks for the day. There are always ongoing activities – like checking the website, tracking new leads, or working on marketing materials.

As a digital marketer, my day is a balance of technical and creative tasks. I make sure the website is running smoothly, keeping an eye on form submissions, ensuring there are no bugs, and analyzing performance. But I also get to flex my creative muscles by designing banners, working on email campaigns, and creating content to support events and sales. HubSpot and Canva are my 2nd nature. The variety of tasks keeps things exciting.

A perfect day for me includes a mix of everything: some planning, some event-related tasks, and a bit of creativity. If I get to juggle all of that, it’s a 10 out of 10. I love how at FTI, no two days are the same. I often get last-minute requests, which means I’m always jumping from one task to another. That’s what keeps me on my toes. On the other hand, to be honest, the constant change can also be challenging. Sometimes I work on something that’s no longer needed the next day, but I’ve learned to embrace the fast-paced nature of the job and be adaptable. The ability to pivot quickly is one of the things that makes FTI such a vibrant place to work.

In my role, it’s key to think out-of-the-box. I’m constantly thinking about new ideas, and I love that we’re always looking for ways to do things differently. The team is always exploring new events, new ways to present ourselves, and new opportunities to grow. It’s a place where I can truly use my full capacity in a very autonomous way.

I hail from Ireland, but living in Belgium has unveiled a whole new world of opportunities for me. One of the biggest differences I’ve noticed between working in Ireland and Belgium is the work-life balance. In Ireland, it was harder to truly disconnect, but in Belgium, there’s a genuine respect for personal time, such as not being contacted during holiday periods.

If I were to recommend FTI to a friend, I’d say it’s a place that’s both fun and purposeful. It’s not about pushing products – it’s about working towards a meaningful goal and being part of something innovative. I never thought I’d enjoy working in an office, but FTI has changed that for me. I love to connect with my colleagues and get their direct feedback, but I also enjoy the flexibility of working from home when needed.

As the day comes to a close, I make sure everything’s ready for the next day – whether it’s preparing for an event or making sure any deliveries are in place. When I get home, I unwind by cooking dinner and taking some time for myself. On weekends, I love traveling. Being in Belgium has opened so many new places for me to explore. In my first year here, I visited 27 cities! Don’t worry, Ghent is on top.
