A Day in the Life of Camille, our Operations & Community Manager
Start Camille’s day with fresh air and a few notes of music – and you’re setting her up for success. Camille is the glue between people, projects, and ideas. With an eye for detail and a drive to get things moving, Camille brings both calm and momentum to the team.

Being a morning person, I like to kick off the day with some movement and energy – a quick walk, music in the background, and a coffee or ginger tea in the hand. On office days, that drink comes with me on the commute from Brussels to Ghent. That hour in the car is my time to get in the zone: sometimes with a TED Talk or an inspiring podcast, sometimes with music. Music that is often calm at first, then a bit (or way more) upbeat as I get closer to the office.
I’m often the first one in, so I’ll keep the music going, check our Kanban board, and prepare for the daily stand-up which I lead at 9 a.m. Office days are for catching up with colleagues, bouncing around ideas, and squeezing in the kind of spontaneous chats you just don’t get on Teams. Mornings are my prime time for deep work, so I try to save meetings for the afternoon. I’m a structure-lover at heart – give me a color-coded overview and I’m thriving.
As Operations & Community Manager, I’m the connector between people, teams, and plans. Once a client signs, I handle the onboarding, then steer the project from there – like setting up a use case workshop. I also keep an eye on how we work as a team and try to carve out time for long-term thinking amid the daily rush. I coordinate events like SuperNova, run the FTI Academy (hello, speaker hunting!), build our Community of Forward Thinkers and manage client projects. Right now, I’m also on a quest to find the perfect platform to bring it all together.
What’s different compared to my previous job? At FTI, I feel like everything I do has a visible impact. Even though I’ve only been here for two months, I already feel the company moving forward. And that freedom: wow! It was an adjustment at first; I came from consulting, where I’d check in with a project manager before making decisions. Here, I call the shots myself. That autonomy gives me a strong sense of ownership. I’ve already learned so much about how to tackle things head-on.
What matter most to me in a job is being in a place where values are lived, and where you can contribute to something that serves the greater good. Some of our use cases, especially the ones focused on health, are deeply meaningful. At FTI, those values aren’t just words on a wall; they’re part of the everyday mindset. One of those values is celebrate and we truly do. People have each other’s backs, we move forward as one team, and that positivity is contagious. It makes stepping into the office something to genuinely look forward to.
My ideal day is a mix of focus time, brainstorms, and a walk or lunch with colleagues. And if, by the end of it, something has become a little clearer or more structured – that’s a win.
If I had to sum up FTI in one sentence? It’s a vibrant environment. We work hard and we celebrate just as hard.
I wrap up the day by preparing for the day after: inbox cleared, calendar checked – yes, even on Sunday evenings. That preview gives me peace of mind. With me in Brussels, work in Ghent, and friends & family in Antwerp… I’ve got plenty of phone catching up to do on my way home. By 7 p.m., I’m ready for something relaxing, whether it’s field hockey, boxing, discovering Brussels, drinks with friends, or just a quiet night in. And from time to time, there’s an afterwork event in Ghent to top off the day.
