Product Manager (Technical)

Flanders Technology & Innovation (FTI) is looking to hire a technical product manager
to oversee the development and execution of technology-driven FTI offerings to the FTI community.

Objectives of this role

  • Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general. 
  • Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly. 
  • Make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage. 
  • Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate to-market plans. 
  • Analyze product requirements.  
  • Assess and address technical risks. 
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap.  
  • Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines.  
  • Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities. 
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation. 
  • Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community. 
  • Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general. 
  • Ability to assess emerging products and companies to measure their potential value or threat to the company and its products, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage.

  • Ability to work well with internal and external teams.  
  • Excellent communicator who ensures requirements are fully understood.  
  • Team player.  
  • Good analytical skills.  
  • Excellent planning skills matching plans with expectations. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Strong experience in a dynamic product management role 
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in product design or engineering. 
  • Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle. 
  • Previous software and web development experience. 
  • Proven experience working as a product developer in a non-managerial role.
